Britney Spears past keeps creeping back to showcase that the pop princess may in fact still be in trouble. At 27-years-old, she is under the extremely watchful eye of her father, Jamie Spears. She holds restraining orders against former manager Sam Lufti and paparazzi ex-boyfriend, Adnan Ghalib. She does not have full custody of her two sons, and is desperately seeking help to once again live a normal life—if she indeed ever had one.

The newest in the Britney saga has to do with Sam Lufti’s younger sister, Christina, who testified in a Los Angeles court Wednesday. Christina says she recently snuck a cell phone to Britney at a Beverly Hills hotel and claims the plan was created by the pop princess herself.

From one soap opera to the next, it’s said that Spears had called Sam’s phone in mid-January to speak with Christina. The 25-year-old sister of Spears’ ex manager claims the singer was in desperate need of Sam’s help asking that he help her find a lawyer and somehow get a prepaid cell phone to her.

"[Britney] told me she wanted to get a hold of Sam," said Christina. "She wanted him to help her find a lawyer, and wanted someone to get a prepaid cell phone to her. She was scared because her father was blackmailing her with visitation rights over her kids."

Cell Phone Pleas

Along with the alleged cell phone meeting between Christina and Britney, in late March one of the singer’s voicemails to her lawyer was leaked online -- showcasing a worried Britney explaining the threats she had received from her father. The message also included Spears' concern about possibly losing her two sons - a threat allegedly issued by her father.

A rather calm Britney was heard asking to eliminate her father’s conservatorship as fast as possible, explaining that it was the second time she had called that day to make sure everything was going according to plan. Unfortunately for the super star, her father is set to remain in control of her life permanently until further notice. Court papers filed back in January claim that Britney “is substantially unable to manage … her financial resources or to resist fraud or undue influences.”

But what happens when Britney shows improvement? Within a year, she has produced more positivity than negativity in getting her career back on top, paying more attention to her children, and cutting off the excess enablers she once interacted with. However, will the pop princess be able to really show this improvement while her father consistently watches over her every move? Can anyone have a growth period in a situation like that?

Too Much Is Not A Good Thing

While many can congratulate Jamie Spears for taking charge and getting his daughter’s life back together, acting too much like a martyr has clearly been an issue in the Britney drama. From threats to limitations on cell phone use to paying rather large legal fees on the account of her father, Britney’s plea for help isn’t something to ignore.

In this case, Britney’s life the past five years showed her as an immature girl-woman still coping with the everyday responsibilities of adulthood. While having her father run the show is seen as a positive thing, it seems far from the normal life her team is trying to create.

So what it comes down to is the court finally seeing an established, normal Britney who can act like a mother for her children thus axing the conservatorship. For now, it seems as though Jamie Spears should act less like an employee (he racked over $2.7 million in attorney fees that Britney was responsible for and she also pays him $18,000 per month) and more like a father. It seems as though if a woman is responsible to dish out all of that money, then she’s certainly responsible for her own life.
