During their marriage Katie Price raked in millions of pounds from disparate business ventures but the divorce has been a massive career boost for Peter Andre.

Back in May Max Clifford predicted a bright future for Peter Andre after his divorce from Katie Price. Now it is happening.

Australian 90’s pop star Peter Andre met Katie Price, also known as Jordan, in the jungle on ITV’s I am a Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! The couple became an item. Jordan used media interest in her romance and subsequent nuptials to recast herself as a versatile entertainer and businesswoman. A suave enterpreneur she proved to be.

Marriage and Divorce

Marriage was an economically viable enterprise for Kate. Among other business ventures, the former glamour model launched a fragrance, starred in her own reality television series and wrote several books. She reportedly accumulated 30 million pounds from her disparate businesses and made it into the Sunday Times Rich List.

Katie’s money making and headline grabbing antics were in direct contrast to her husband’s life as her shadow and appendage. Peter Andre failed to revive his pop career or land a movie role Stateside.

Then the divorce happened. Since the announcement that Peter was splitting from Katie Price back in May, Peter Andre has done well for himself.

Career Boost after Split

Peter's comeback album, “Revelation,” entered the charts at number three. The first single, Behind Closed Doors, was released in September and peaked at number four on the Official UK Singles Chart.

Public sympathy has played a significant role in Peter’s recent success on the music scene but the way he handles himself has not hurt him either.

He comes across as a mature, decent guy, a doting father and family man whose marriage unfortunately did not work. He is pictured by the tabloid press doing all the right stuff, mainly with his children. He draws the public without the coarse and crass Katie for whom he had been supporting cast for years.

He is mobbed by fans, thousands queue up at his public appearances just to get a glimpse of their idol.

Peter Andre is making the most of it. He starred in an ITV2 documentary, Peter Andre: Going It Alone, on August 17 and exceeded both Channel 4 and BBC2 viewing figures. He bagged his dream job as a reporter for ITV’s This Morning covering celebrity issues.

Book Battle on the High Street over Christmas

Peter Andre’s financial successes may continue for some time to come. Gemma Wheatley writing for the The Daily Star on October 2, 2009 reported that ‘Katie Price and Peter Andre are planning to release explosive tell all books’ about their divorce and doomed marriage.

It seems the warring divorcees want to take advantage of the surge in book sales over Christmas-their books are earmarked to be on book shelves over the festive season.

The book war is likely to amass fortunes for both. The public is obsessed with celebrity and books ‘written’ by celebrities.

Katie Price made millions from the 16 books she has written to date. Peter may not have wanted to spill the beans about his marriage and bad mouth Kate for the sake of his children and because he is a nice guy, dubbed ‘Saint Peter’ by Fabulous magazine, but the temptation to tell his side of the story and make money in the process may have proved too much to resist.

There is every liklihood of a book war on the High Street because the people behind the books are at loggerheads, there is a massive contrast of personality between them, and the public is divided into camp Peter and camp Katie, not to mention that they were married until May. There will be tantalizing and conflicting details to make the books irresistible.

The same Daily Star reported that Kate is said to have told friends that she will reveal why she went off sex with Peter and visted sex shops during the marriage. Surprisingly Peter has repeatedly claimed to be sex starved since his estrangement from Kate, indicating that sex was going on in the relationship.This conflicting version of fact and truth offered by both celebrities gives a glimpse of the sort of controversy that will see both books flying off the shelves at Christmas.

Depending on the public’s response, the planned book may be Peter’s biggest money making project yet to come out of his marriage.
